About Geraldine Sweeney

Prioritizing your mental health is one of the most meaningful ways we can care for ourselves and the relationships that matter most to us. Therapy with me is a space where you can slow down, breathe a little deeper, and feel supported while working through the parts of life that may feel overwhelming, confusing, painful, or stuck.

I work with individuals (18+) and couples, and my goal is to create a space that feels warm, welcoming, and genuine. I want you to feel comfortable showing up exactly as you are, without pressure, judgment, or the feeling that you need to have everything figured out before starting therapy.

Reaching out for support is not easy. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, PTSD, relationship challenges, burnout, perfectionism, coercive control, or intimate partner violence, you do not have to navigate it alone. I also work with professionals who may feel disconnected from themselves, emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed by expectations, or unsure of how to move forward in a way that feels sustainable and fulfilling.

My approach is rooted in connection, collaboration, and meeting you where you are. Together, we create a plan based on your needs, goals, and experiences, moving at a pace that feels manageable and supportive for you. Much of our work focuses on the central nervous system, self-understanding, and learning how to stay grounded during difficult moments. I draw from approaches such as Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), somatic techniques, and Gottman Method Couples Therapy to help support meaningful and lasting growth.

I am also passionate about ongoing learning, particularly in the area of sexuality and relational well-being. Alongside professional mentorship and supervision with a certified sex therapist, I continue expanding my education in Professional Sexuality Practices. This work supports my approach to intimacy, communication, connection, and relationship concerns with care, openness, and compassion.

Above all, our work together will help you feel more connected to yourself, confident in navigating life’s challenges, and grounded in the direction you want your life to move toward.
