Are you looking for art therapy near you, or trusted mental health counselling for children in Listowel? We can help.
Ally Dunphy (She/Her) is a Registered Psychotherapist and Art Therapist who provides a creative, nurturing, and child-centred approach to emotional wellness. Through directive and non-directive art therapy techniques, Ally helps children express difficult feelings, develop healthy coping skills, and build confidence in a supportive, playful environment.
Among local therapists in Listowel, Ally stands out for her warm, playful presence and her ability to help children feel safe, seen, and understood. Her expertise in art therapy provides children with a hands-on, creative outlet for emotions that are often too difficult to express verbally.
Parents appreciate Ally’s gentle approach, her ability to connect quickly with children, and her skill in helping families navigate periods of change, stress, or emotional overwhelm. Whether a child is experiencing anxiety, adjusting to a new family dynamic, or struggling with school pressures, Ally brings patience, insight, and creativity to every session.

Ally is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario with training in both psychology and art therapy. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Waterloo and a Diploma of Art Psychotherapy from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (DTATI). Her passion for supporting children is shaped by her own experiences with school anxiety and parental divorce, experiences that now inform her empathy, sensitivity, and attunement to the needs of young clients.
Ally works exclusively with children ages 4–12, using art-making as a pathway to communication and healing. She understands that children often express themselves best through creativity rather than words, and she creates a warm, welcoming space where every child feels safe to explore emotions in their own way.
Whether a child is coping with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, family changes, or day-to-day challenges at school, Ally provides steady, gentle guidance that supports emotional regulation, self-esteem, and growing resilience.
In addition to standard session lengths, Ally offers 25-minute sessions for younger children who benefit from shorter engagement, and 80-minute sessions for children needing extended processing time.
Ally’s approach to child-centred therapy is grounded in creativity, safety, and connection. Her areas of expertise include:
