At Stone Silo Counselling & Wellness, we believe in making mental health support accessible while fostering the next generation of skilled therapists while also having affordable therapy solutions. Our student therapists are dedicated professionals in training, working under the direct supervision of an experienced Registered Psychotherapist and/or Registered Social Worker. They bring a strong commitment to client care, and the latest knowledge in the field—all at a reduced rate.
Our student therapists are here to help with a variety of concerns, offering a safe and supportive space tailored to your needs.
Yes! Confidentiality is a cornerstone of our practice. Just like with a fully licensed therapist, everything you discuss with a student therapist remains strictly private and protected by the same ethical and legal guidelines. The only exception is during supervision with Ezra Branderhorst, where your case might be discussed to ensure you receive the best possible care. Your identifying information will be kept confidential during supervision.
Absolutely! Some of our student therapists are trained in various therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and more. During your initial consultation, you can discuss your specific needs and preferences to ensure that the student therapist’s expertise aligns with your goals.
The primary benefits are affordability and the added layer of supervision. You receive quality therapy at a reduced rate, making mental health support more accessible.
This all depends on the benefits, but most benefit companies want a Master level clinician
