Are you looking for therapy near you or compassionate mental health counselling in Waterloo for anxiety, depression, grief, or self-esteem challenges?
Isaac Cavallin (He/Him) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who provides thoughtful, client-centred therapy for teens and adults. His approach is grounded in curiosity, collaboration, and the belief that while our experiences shape us, they do not define who we are or who we can become.
Among therapists in Waterloo, Isaac is known for his thoughtful, approachable style and his ability to help clients explore difficult experiences without judgment. He believes therapy should be a collaborative process where clients feel empowered to share their perspectives, ask questions, and actively shape their own healing journey.
Clients appreciate Isaac’s calm, compassionate presence and his focus on helping them understand the stories that influence how they see themselves and the world around them. Whether you are navigating depression, anxiety, grief, anger, or challenges with confidence and self-worth, Isaac provides practical tools, meaningful reflection, and steady support as you work toward lasting change.
Outside the therapy room, Isaac enjoys reading science fiction, practising yoga, going to the gym, writing, and exploring new experiences. His curiosity and lifelong love of learning continue to shape both his personal life and therapeutic practice.

Isaac believes that recognizing the need for support is one of the hardest parts of the healing journey. He understands that taking the first step toward therapy requires courage, and he is committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, respected, and supported from the very beginning.
Isaac holds a Master of Counselling Psychology (MACP) and is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). He provides counselling in Waterloo for clients aged 16 to 65, helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, grief, anger, self-esteem concerns, and life transitions with warmth and compassion.
He has always been fascinated by the stories people tell themselves and the ways those stories influence identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. Through therapy, Isaac helps clients explore these narratives with curiosity, understand how past experiences continue to shape the present, and create space for a story that better reflects who they are today.
Before joining Stone Silo Counselling & Wellness, Isaac worked with high-risk adolescents and young adults who had experienced trauma. Many were also navigating emotional regulation challenges, addiction, and other complex concerns. These experiences strengthened his belief that healing is different for everyone and that meaningful change is always possible.
Isaac’s approach to therapy in Waterloo is collaborative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each individual. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, he works alongside clients to develop a therapeutic approach that reflects their goals, values, and lived experiences.
